State report card
Virginia rates schools two ways. Accreditation means a school “submitted all required evidence to the Department of Education as prescribed in the Standards of Accreditation,” in the words of the state profile. The School Performance and Support Framework gives each school a score and one of four performance levels: Distinguished, Meets Expectations, Approaching Expectations and Needs Intensive Support.
- Accreditation: Fully Accredited, the state’s designation for the 2025-26 school year.
- Framework score: 72.21, performance level Approaching Expectations, in the state’s division summary.
- Federal accountability: the profile lists Round as “Identified for Comprehensive Support and Improvement” based on 2025-26 data. The profile says schools identified for comprehensive support must work with the state and their division to create and follow an improvement plan, and have three years to improve student learning or receive more support from the state.
Standards of Learning pass rates (share of tested students who passed, third and fourth grade tests):
| Subject | 2023-24 | 2024-25 | 2025-26 | Virginia, all grades, 2025-26 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| English reading | 65% | 49% | 47% | 74% |
| Math | 66% | 54% | 50% | 73% |
The full profile breaks the results down by grade and student group and also reports attendance and teacher data.
Attendance zone and feeder schools
Five elementary zones divide the city. Enter an address in the division’s WebQuery lookup and choose the grade (PK for preschool) to see the assigned school and bus stop. Our neighborhoods guide puts Lee Manor in the Round zone, along with parts of Georgetown South and Wellington, based on the city’s 2017 school boundary map.
In addresses we checked in the division’s WebQuery lookup on Oct. 20, the Round zone was split for fifth and sixth grade: some homes were assigned to Baldwin Intermediate and others to Mayfield Intermediate. Every city student then attends Grace E. Metz Middle and Osbourn High.
The zone stops at the city line. Many homes with a Manassas mailing address are in Prince William County, which runs its own schools. Kindergarten registration is for children who turn 5 on or before Sept. 30, the division’s registration page says.

The school is named for George Carr Round, a Union Army Signal Corps veteran and lawyer who settled in Manassas in 1868, became the town’s first superintendent of public schools and organized the 1911 National Jubilee of Peace, the about page says.
