Before you sign a lease or buy

  • Check the city line, not the mailing address. Manassas is an independent city, and only addresses inside city limits go to MCPS. Many homes with a Manassas mailing address are in Prince William County, which runs its own schools.
  • Zones do not follow neighborhood lines. Enter an address in the division’s WebQuery lookup and choose the grade to see the assigned school and bus stop.
  • Register: start with the division’s new student registration page, then make an appointment with the school’s registrar.

After fourth grade, students go to Baldwin Intermediate or Mayfield Intermediate for fifth and sixth grade, depending on the address. Every city student then attends Grace E. Metz Middle for seventh and eighth grade and Osbourn High.

Each school below links to its own page with the principal, bell times, programs and full state figures. The framework score is the state’s School Performance and Support Framework score from the division summary; every school is Fully Accredited for 2025-26. Enrollment is the state’s fall 2025 count.

Johnson Learning Center on Tudor Lane and the Governor’s STEM Academy at Osbourn as separate entries; both are programs on the Osbourn campus with no enrollment of their own in the directory.

The nine schools counted 7,424 students in fall 2025, according to the state’s School Quality Profiles. The state’s division-wide count, 8,263, is higher than the sum of the nine schools; the division profile does not break out the difference. The counts are the state’s Sept. 30 fall membership.

Which intermediate school

The intermediate school depends on the address. In addresses we checked in WebQuery on Oct. 20, homes in the Jennie Dean, Haydon and Weems elementary zones were assigned to Mayfield Intermediate, while the Baldwin and Round zones were split between Baldwin Intermediate and Mayfield. Our neighborhoods guide shows which elementary zones cover each neighborhood.
