First Friday
For years, Historic Manassas Inc.’s First Friday brought crowds downtown on the first Friday evening of each month. After a 16-year-old bystander was killed in an exchange of gunfire during the Sept. 4, 2026, event, the city and HMI canceled the October Second Friday and began reviewing evening events. Options discussed at a City Council work session included earlier hours, Saturday afternoons and an alcohol-free format, according to the October 2026 City Connection. Check HMI’s events page for decisions.
