What there is to do

The full 2027 program is not out yet. In 2025 the organizers listed:

  • a costume parade for anyone dressed as a pollinator
  • the waggle dance and a spelling bee with prizes
  • local honey, and a community apiary of honeybee hives and native bee houses
  • vendors, food trucks and a brew, mead and spirits garden
  • farm animals, a bounce house, games and crafts
  • live music, and wellness and yoga on the lawn
  • bee, pollinator and native plant experts
  • tours of the historic Liberia House, with its large trees, native gardens and park trails

For 2026 the listing added live hive demonstrations, honey tastings, expert speakers and children’s activities.

The festival exists to teach about pollinators and native plants. Organizers note that Manassas was the first city in Northern Virginia designated a Bee City USA, in 2021.

Parking and getting there

For the 2025 festival, organizers said:

  • Or park downtown in the city parking garage and ride the continuous free tractor wagon to the festival, or walk the 2K Honey Hike, a signed route from the Manassas Museum lawn to Liberia.

The 2027 parking plan has not been posted; check the festival site in the spring.
