(HMI) at the Visitor Center in the train depot, 703-361-6599, or the market manager, sami@historicmanassasinc.org.

HMI posts a weekly vendor list and a market map on its market information page.
Thursday vs. Saturday
The two markets are not the same:
- Thursday is producer-only. Every vendor must grow, raise or make what it sells.
- Saturday is bigger and mixed. Non-producers can sell too, though HMI says most vendors are local small businesses.
HMI books local musicians for each market day, with seating in the picnic area.
Expect produce, local meats and cheeses, baked goods and handmade crafts. Every vendor takes cash; most, but not all, take cards.
SNAP, Virginia Fresh Match and senior vouchers
- SNAP/EBT: swipe your card at the Market Information booth and get “Train Station” tokens to spend on eligible foods at any vendor that accepts SNAP.
- Virginia Fresh Match: for every $1 SNAP token, you get a free $1 token for fresh fruits and vegetables (including food-producing seeds and plants), up to $40 per market each week. Details on HMI’s SNAP page.
- Senior and WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program: eligible people 60 and older can get $50 in vouchers for fruits, vegetables and fresh herbs. Apply online through the state’s Healthy Together app or at the market information tent.
For kids
The POP Club (Power of Produce) tent runs 9 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of each month from May to October. Children 14 and under earn $2 in POP Bucks for joining in, plus $2 more for trying two bites of the featured produce. An adult must come along.
Rules and tips
- Pets: not allowed, except trained service animals, under Va. Code 3.2-5115. Bring a friend to walk your dog on the sidewalk.
- Weather: open rain or shine; in thunder, lightning or severe weather HMI posts changes on its website and social media.
- Parking: the Saturday market takes over a commuter lot, so use other downtown lots or the garage. See our getting around guide.
Selling or volunteering
Vendors apply through HMI’s Get Involved page; drop-in spots are available when space allows. Applications for the 2027 Winter Market are open. Nonprofits can ask for a free information booth through the market manager.
